I decided to try the progressive challenge at Create with TLC . Each day Paulette sends out a free image to participants.  If you submit a finished card, you get another image the next day.  The challenge runs for 12 days.  I'm not sure how long I can continue to get a card done, but I've enjoyed the images she's sent so far.

This card is for a group challenge in Your Scrapbook Place.  Each participant received an envelope of "bits and pieces" and had to use them to make a project of their choice.  The image is from Sami Stamps. She drew the stamp for me to use in Christmas cards last year.  I wanted foxes to represent the wildlife here at the lake.  I thought the image was perfect, but wound up doing others things for our cards.  I had the image already colored, so I was happy to be able to use it in this challenge.
Another Get Well card.  This one is for Greg who managed to break his collar bone while out bicyling.  Hopefully, he'll heal quickly.  He need to keep up with Oscar, who just celebrated his third  birthday.  Here's Oscar's card for his yellow submarine party. We missed the party, but the pictures on Facebook look like he had a ball.

This was for the Rick St. Dennis MFA September 2014 Progressive Challenge at Sparkle and Glitter with Rick.  Unfortunately, I didn't read the fine print and missed the deadline for posting. I decided I'd post it here anyway.

When I saw the images of Spangles and Captain McSteeme, I thought they could be used for a Hunger Games card for a certain fan I know.  However, the Captain was wearing a hat and had a mustache. I contacted Rick and requested permission to modify the image slightly, removing the hat and mustache.  Rick graciously agreed. The stage is from Make It Crafty.  The scene is supposed to mimic the interview where Katniss demonstrates her flaming dress.  I used Gelly Roll Stardust markers for the fire.  Unfortunately, it doesn't photograph very well, but it is actually very sparkly. The inside sentiment includes a Mockingjay drawing and says, "Happy Birthday, and May the odds be ever in your favor!"

These little chicks are the September Free Stamp of the Month Challenge image at From the Heart Stamps. They come with some cute sentiments, too.  I used one of the sentiments--Let your happiness carry you away--inside the card along with a tiny version of the chick holding the balloon.  The coloring isn't too great.  I'm trying to learn to use water color pencils.  So far, it's a work in progress, and, as you know, everything is a mess in the middle!
This is one of the new fall images from Gerda Steiner Designs. The image is also available with a second child in the wagon, so cute!  This is for the progressive challenge on the GSD blog.

Today's card is for another challenge at Your Scrapbook Place.  We had to make a Clean and Simple card--no layers, patterned paper or embellishments, just the white card and a colored image.  I used Quirky Christmas Tree from the Creative Bug Digi shop.  In keeping with the clean and simple challenge, I used older, non-blendable markers--a Sharpie, a couple of Zig calligraphy pens, and Gelly Roll markers.  The Gellys didn't photograph very well, but they give a nice sparkle to the star, ornaments, and garland on the card.

I have more family cards today.  The first is a get well card for Finn who injured his knee while practicing his dance moves.  Kids are resilient, so hopefully this will be only a temporary stumble!

This is the first flag from Maybelle's birthday banner.  I got a junk copy of Winnie the Pooh and removed pages to alter.  Although the glimmer mist doesn't completely cover the discoloration and staining of the pages, I still felt guilty about tearing up the book! Here is her card.

Here are a couple of family cards.  I really enjoy making box cards.  The first is for Elaine's birthday.  Since her gift was a ticket to Pajama Games, I thought I'd try to make a card using, "You're the cat's pajamas."  It just wasn't enough, though, so I added some other sayings--you're the best thing since sliced bread, you're the bees knees, and you're all that and a bag of chips--all stuffed into a single box.  We are sooo late for Kayla's birthday that I'm embarrassed.  I just couldn't seem to get it together; other things kept intruding.  So, her card says, "Some day I'll get my ducks in a row, but not this year. Sorry!"

I'm a little late getting this up, but this is my page for the Your Scrapbook Place challenge this month. This page is almost entirely elements from Lisa Decosse at Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. The background paper is from a Christmas set.  I made the frame using Lisa's Oh Canada paper.  I contacted Lisa and received her permission to reduce the color saturation so the tones would match the pastels on the page.  I used a scanned file of the program for the "Theatre in the Park" and "The Pajama Game" titles. Lisa has some lovely butterflies on her blog right now and a contest to win the set for free.  Better hurry over and check it out!
